Fifteen hospital trustees from across Minnesota were recognized for earning certification through the Minnesota Hospital Association's (MHA) trustee certification program. The comprehensive certification process prepares hospital trustees to effectively meet the growing demands of serving on a hospital board and to be strong healthcare and community leaders.

John Halvorson from the Perham Health Board of Trustees was among those recognized. Halvorson was elected to the Board of Trustees in 20012 and represents Star Lake Township. He currently serves as treasurer of the board and has served on the executive and finance committees. Halvorson joins fellow Board of Trustee members Alisyn Keil, Jerry Kunza, Terry Marthaler, and Eugene Jahnke who have also completed the comprehensive certification training.

The Perham Health Board of Trustees comprises elected officials from the cities of Perham, Dent, and Richville, 10 area townships — Edna, Dora, Star Lake, Corliss, Perham, Pine Lake, Rush Lake, Ottertail, Dead Lake, and Gorman — and an at-large position.
